Connected Clinical Data: an eHealth Hub For Cancer
About the eHealth Hub
We lead the all-island eHealth Hub for Cancer, an all-island partnership on the island of Ireland that is building software and data platforms using best practice open science international health data standards to unlock and share health data, to grow clinical cancer research and improve cancer care.
Our Mission
We are building software and data platforms to unlock and share health data, enabling clinical cancer research and improving cancer care across the island of Ireland. The eHealth Hub connects clinicians, researchers, and patients through standardized health data infrastructure.
Our work focuses on:
- Implementing international health data standards
- Creating secure data sharing platforms
- Developing open-source software tools for cancer research
- Building collaborative networks between institutions
- Supporting evidence-based improvements in cancer care
Connecting Communities
The eHealth Hub serves as a bridge between healthcare providers, academic institutions, and research centers across Ireland. By standardizing and connecting clinical data, we enable:
- Larger and more diverse patient cohorts for research
- Accelerated clinical trials and studies
- Improved understanding of cancer treatments and outcomes
- Enhanced collaboration between researchers island-wide
- Better-informed healthcare decisions
Funding
The eHealth-Hub for Cancer is funded under the Higher Education Authority Shared Island North-South Program, establishing a hub of excellence for cancer research and clinical data integration.
